Yoga and the Alexander Technique with Maura Matarese, M.A. LMHC, R.Y.T. &Tommy Thompson:  TBA
 
 
If you love “moving into stillness” in your yoga practice, then you will love this workshop.  “Experience your experience” on a level far deeper than can be obtained through a traditional yoga practice.  Why so?  The Alexander technique, a method created over 200 years ago to help release tension in the neck and spine, allows us to go deeper into the connective tissue and experience a release and sense of freedom like no other.  You will also discover your own personal habits that actually create more stress in your body, both on and off the mat.  But most importantly, your yoga practice will completely transform with the Alexander technique!
 
This method is widely taught in Acting, dance, and music conservatories around the world.  Participants must be comfortable with having hands placed on them while practicing asana.
 
 
This workshop will include:
·         A 1 hour slow vinyasa (necessary to experience the subtleties of the Alexander technique)
·        Individual demonstrations…everyone will have a chance to perform asana with a “hands on” Alexander lesson
